Default The Legacy of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965

"This bill we sign today is not a revolutionary bill. It does not affect the lives of millions. It will not restructure the shape of our daily lives." ~ President Lyndon B. Johnson

"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same ... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset ... Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the bill will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia ... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think." ~ Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA)

"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs." ~ Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA)

"Contrary to the opinions of some of the misinformed, this legislation does not open the floodgates." ~ Senator Claiborne Pell (D-RI)

"We estimate that if the President gets his way, and the current immigration laws are repealed, the number of immigrants next year will increase threefold and in subsequent years will increase even more ... shall we, instead, look at this situation realistically and begin solving our own unemployment problems before we start tackling the world's?" ~ Rep William Miller (R-NY)

"What I object to is imposing no limitation insofar as areas of the earth are concerned, but saying that we are throwing the doors open and equally inviting people from the Orient, from the islands of the Pacific, from the subcontinent of Asia, from the Near East, from all of Africa, all of Europe, and all of the Western Hemisphere on exactly the same basis. I am inviting attention to the fact that this is a complete and radical departure from what has always heretofore been regarded as sound principles of immigration." ~ Senator Spessard Holland (D-FL)

"With the end of discrimination due to place of birth, there will be shifts in countries other than those of northern and western Europe. Immigrants from Asia and Africa will have to compete and qualify in order to get in, quantitatively and qualitatively, which, itself will hold the numbers down. There will not be, comparatively, many Asians or Africans entering this country... Since the people of Africa and Asia have very few relatives here, comparatively few could immigrate from those countries because they have no family ties in the U.S." ~ Rep. Emmanuel Cellar (D-NY)

Yeah, REALLY! ... That pompous little Hubert Horatio Humphrey makes me want to vomit too. His state, Minnesota, got some poetic justice these last 5 years or so: 30,000+ Somalians!

The American people made a BIG mistake thinking they wouldn't be lied to... Well, guess what people, 'your' elected representatives LIED to you!

I have come to the realization that we are going to lose ground (land) and a lot of white lives in this struggle. Perhaps we need to pull back to the east coast, east of the mississippi and maybe the northern part of the country....
I was checking out a radio program, Coast-to-Coast actually (yeah I know ) but this particular show had a guy on who said he had gotten a scenario map from the Navy. He was talking about the New Madrid and San Andreas faults, according to the Navy annd their deep water mapping, these two faults appear to be gearing up to go almost simotainously, his name is Steve Quayle, any ways he said according to naval maps that the east coast will break away and for a new Island Continent and west of the Mississippi will split in two. If this is the case we could consolidate in two safe areas with the intent on driving non-whites to other areas out side of the expected continenla split zones.

Back on topic, when Kennedey said this will not change the demografic of the US he knew that was an out right lie. I truly hope what is left of his soul is wandering in perpetual darkness and is beeing nipped and torn at by the creatures that inhabit that darkness...

I wouldn't say "poetic justice" about Minnesota. It's a sad state of affairs regardless of who enacted the "Act" and what's been happening since.

I have never been able to grasp how a state like Minnesota, at one time composed principally of Norwegians, Germanics and other Northern European immigrants, could elect and then re-elect that mindless ultra-liberal Hubert Humphrey as a United States Senator. As it tuned out, he was the epitome of the Vice-Presidential choice to serve under President Lyndon B. Johnson.

Edmund Ruffin has a funny story about meeting HHH in Washington while visiting one of his elected representatives; maybe he will retell that story for all others to enjoy, if he happens by this thread.

    My exact same sentiments.

I was rather more concerned about Pawlenty thinking that it was somehow OK to turn a budget surplus in Minnesota before his role as governor to a staggering deficit when he left. Pawlenty has the audacity to think that he is somehow suited to being a POTUS. Obviously Obama's not, but neither is Pawlenty.

Either way, I don't think we'll get good representation of our needs in a president soon unless people wake up and smell the immigrants.

It was the terrible times, 1965 and the so called "Civil Rights Laws' Busing to achieve the integration and Homogenization of the races in the schools of Jacksonville, Florida. we gathered together as a flock of chickens while the Hawks circled us, threatening, bullying, supposedly doing crowd control , but we met and prayed together, Baptists, Catholics and all denom,s we were being herded into a race mixing scheme that we were against and were uncertain how to resist.
There was Attorney J.B. Stoner, Dr. Edward Fields and other leaders who tried to organise us into a force to peacefully resist, there was large picnic gatherings, marches in the city and speakers demanding that the voices of the people be heard and we managed to get the issue on the ballot for a referendum of and by the people, "NO BUSING IN JACKSONVILLE" there was thousands of us and we voted that bunch of miscreants down, fair and square....
But ONE FEDERAL JUDGE set our votes aside...
We were thousands but ONE FEDERAL JUDGE overruled our referendum as unconstitutional and ordered the City to order hundreds of new buses to be used to mix and mingle the school system in an exact as possible 50/50 ratio in the entire school system.
My children were small then and in school, the oldest one not a teen yet was scheduled to attend the morning classes across town from 7:00 until noon and my other children was scheduled from noon until 5:00 , the oldest left before daylight and the younger came home after dark, we were overwhelmed we could not take it, we lost our home, our Church, our friends and moved back to the hills from where we were from... an old farm house that my girls refused to move into, neighbors who treated us like we were aliens, we were alone but we were free... and we have recovered our loss, through hard work and not allowing the Jew his usury toll, we have a life experience that many find hard to believe, to many you might say was it worth it? yes, yes, I can say I know what freedom is and they don't until they have to fight for it. I will do it again... (very brief story).
The Enemy is heartless and a pure brute, we must fight for our lives yet, our race, our faith and our dignity as a white man, ... be prepared, buy tools with which to survive...
Like army ants it comes you'll have to kill it!...

All kidding aside as our people feel threatened by the hordes they will probably get into a tighter and tighter corner until they have no other option than to come out swinging. Kinda like the nerdy kid in high school who is being bullied by the jocks and one day jumps up and crushes the face of their lead bully and whips them all from surprise and rage.
