Today I noticed more headlines concerning Iran but this time they also included Russia, not to mention Israel. I have been watching Russia for a long time and it has been showing an encouraging trend towards stronger and stronger Russian nationalism, and nationalism is an instinct for which a lot of us are familiar. I have also been impressed with the way Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin handles things and I am always interested in what he has to say. Not to mention the fact that The Chosen Tribe has a pretty lengthy and despised relationship with Russian nationalists. So any time Russia and Israel are mentioned in an article, we really should check it out.
Headlines today from Reuters read “Russia must keep promise to supply missiles: Iran”. This is referring to a contract signed between Russia and Iran back in 2007 that is estimated to be worth $1 billion. It is for supply of Russia S-300PMU-1 air defense missile systems to Iran. According to the below Russian Information Agency Novosti (RIA Novosti) article, “The United States and Israel, concerned with the possible consequences of the deal, have more than once asked Russia not to deliver the systems, capable of intercepting their bombers if they decide to strike at Iran.” So it is obvious what Israel expects from what it likes to call “our friends, the US and other enlightened countries,” to do.
You might recall President Obama declared that his administration would hit the reset button for Russian relations. First bribe was to cancel Washington’s plans to install a missile radar installation facility in the Czech Republic, right in Russia backyard. But if you ask me, that was more of a rhetorical gesture of cooperation because I am pretty sure Putin and his team had already made it perfectly clear that it would not allow any such missile defense system. Anyway, Obama got a feather in his hat for the gesture and Russia seemed to just roll their eyes about it (no real, noticeable quid pro quo for this symbolic gesture).
So now we can look at the Reuters article in a better context. Moscow is getting steady pressure from the West, you know from what Israel likes to call “our friends, the US and other enlightened countries,” to put more diplomatic distance between the Kremlin and Iran, including being more open to joining the great democracies of the West in slapping sanctions against Iran. Not to mention reneging on its missile contract which Russia does appear to be posturing towards, if not to at least just temporarily placate Israel’s surrogate democracies.
But the pay dirt in this Reuters article for me was really what I would consider a serious lapse in honesty by the Reuters reporter. That’s right, a lapse in honesty! The article let loose of a public secret that the mainstream press is not supposed to ever talk about. You can read our story from last month to see what I am talking about regarding Open, Public Top Secrets. The Reuters article reports,
“Israel, which is thought to have the Middle East’s only atomic arsenal, has hinted it could attack Iran in an effort to stop its arch enemy obtaining nuclear weapons.”
That brings us to the United Press International (UPI) article, which is not as recent as the Reuters article but it is only a couple of weeks old. It reports that Moscow may not be so eager to please Israel and the democracies they practically control. The UPI article says, “This has raised speculation that it (Russia) may brush aside the strident objections of the United States and Israel and supply Iran with advanced S-300PMU surface-to-air missiles that would greatly enhance its defenses against airstrikes.”
The saber rattling for the past several moths has been about so-called “secret” nuclear facilities in Iran, for which the Iranian government says are for peaceful, civilian purposes, and for which the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is reporting after visiting the secret site, that there is “nothing to be worried about”. Read our No worries! Says the IAEA story.
So we are talking about a sovereign country that has already contracted for the purchase of defensive weapons from Russia and certainly needs those defensive weapons as it is situated next door to a radical nuclear armed country under investigation for war crimes. It wants those missles because it could greatly enhance its defenses against airstrikes. The UPI article confirms, “Western military experts say the S-300, operating alongside the Tor-M1 short-range air-defense system already supplied to Iran by Russia, would make Iran’s key nuclear facilities virtually immune to U.S. or Israeli air and missile strikes, or at the very least extremely costly to any attacker.”
Seriously, do you blame Iran? I really recommend the below articles to get more information on this. Especially the UPI article which explains Russia’s interests in Iran and why they probably will not jump very high for Washington and Israel.
Weather we like it or not, Russia is the best hope for the survival of the white race right now. Unlike Europe and America Russia does not apear to be totally under the thumb of Israel.
Iran needs nuclear power, if for no other reason, so as to conserve oil for export, and furthermore they have a treaty with the United States, which says that they have the right to it!
