Most New Zealanders say Maori do not have a special place in New Zealand

Sorry yes I agree that Maori have a special place in New Zealand. Just at times, they get overly favoured. Yes they should get privileged, but some of the things are just over the top. Maori scholarship even if you're only 1/32 Maori. It's a joke. Some of the most non-Maori guys are getting these scholarships. I have no problems in schemes set up to aid Maori, but sometimes its over the top and doesn't even achieve the purpose it was aimed to achieve.

My thoughts

One guy was talking about how we should give them more money.

Like Round said “Maori were becoming more and more demanding.

We have already given them TV light bulbs, cars, KFC, apples, cell phones, ovens, the freedom to travel the world and much, much more.
And they still want millions of dollars.

The bed the sleep in, the breakfast they eat, the shower they use, the way they brush their teeth, the suit they were, the car they drive, the buildings the walk inside, the tv they watch, Everything they do is from Europeans.

The Americans had segregation.
The South Africans had the Apartheid.
The Australians had the White Australia policy.
I don't know if Canada had anything but they probably didn't have that many non-whites.
New Zealand didn't have anything but the Treaty of Waitangi. Now there are more than just Maori living in New Zealand.
Arabs, Africans and Asians all come over now.
They all want to be treated as equals, to us, Europeans that were descendants of Goth, Frisians, Anglo Saxon, Celtic, Germanic, Viking, Romans and Greeks like the Spartans and Athenian . We conquered the Sea, Land, Sky and the Moon. We have to be equal or we get called names.

Who was here first is always going to be argued about.

Whether the Maori came from Hawaiki (Taiwan) 1000 years ago

or whether the Waka looks like a Viking ship, the Maori art looks Celtic, and they all lived in Hillforts and used spears and Gorilla tactics to fight. Maori mythology there were blonde fairy people and red heads that gave Maori fishing hooks and nets. These people were called Turehu/Urukehu/Patupairehe. The word Pakeha is derived from the “gods of the sea,” the names for which are Pakehakeha.
Just like Prince Phillip became a god in Vanuatu
The Viking/Celt became “gods” and “fairies” to the Maori.

However it doesn't matter. Who was here in the Past what matters is who is here in the present and Future.

Nor should it matter whether it was Celt, Vikings or Abel Tasman or James Cook, The Europeans sailed all the way in ships and helped the Maori people. They deserve to live in New Zealand. And now they still want more and more help. The Maori had a low population when Europeans went to New Zealand. A few Europeans breed with them which made their population increase because European +Maori=Maori.
If Europeans left today with everything they had, the Maori would be soon extinct because they wouldn’t be able to keep their own culture. They would be thinking wanting to eat a BBQ or MacDonald next to a tv and a warm fireplace instead of eating Hangi outside.
We give and give and give and all they do is take, every other races takes more and more , then when it isn’t enough they kick us down and spit in our faces. They call us names and blame us if they fail school or go to jail. When will it end?
