A lot of people have heard about the forthcoming paper by Caroline Sturdy Colls, where she used ground-penetrating RADAR to locate disturbances that indicate possible mass graves. One of these disturbances was 26m by 17m in area. The depth is unknown.
Sounds huge, and the Huffington Post and other nitwit news sources are claiming it as proof of the holocaust. This claim of proof is not remotely realistic.
- Supposedly 700,000-800,000 people were killed in Treblinka.
- Assuming an average mass of 50kg per person (which would be about right for a starved population) then each person's volume would be about 0.05 cubic meters.
- So in order to hold 700,000 people, a mass grave 26m x 17m would need to be 80m deep. What would that look like?
This sinkhole that formed in Guatemala City was 60m deep by 18m across. So the grave would have been roughly this size, but 20m deeper. Clearly, this is beyond ridiculous. There's no way this grave pit is 80m deep. So does this grave (if it's a grave) discredit revisionists? Absolutely not.
However, I'm thrilled that somebody is actually publicly studying Treblinka. Hopefully this will be continued in all the notorious sites of the holocaust. To quote the archaeologist who lead the study:
“It’s hard to believe that there has been no systematic search for the six million victims who perished in the Holocaust."
I agree with her. Hopefully the young lady hasn't stepped on a hornet's nest. Her paper will be published here, the Journal of Conflict Archaeology, probably in the next issue.

Her paper has finally been published but it contains very little significant information. It is mostly a discussion of how archaeology investigates in detail most genocides, and how the holocaust has been treated differently, and argues that investigation should be undertaken. What she specifically found is to be published at a later date, she says.
Here it is in full:

She does however go over Treblinka briefly. She mentions nothing about mass graves, only about the remnants of buildings. It seems likely that journalists pushed her for a comment so they could run the headline 'science discredits revisionists'. She appears to believe that mass graves will be found as she is skeptical of the claim that most victims were incinerated.
"The hardest currency is information."
The best easily available evidence that the Holocaust story is exaggerated, or a lie, is the simple fact, that in many countries they are putting people in jail, for questioning any part of the official Holocaust story!
I used to believe that the myth was true, until they started putting people in jail for saying it was false. Note that there are still people who insist that the Earth is flat, but they are not putting those people in jail!
