The result was that millions of soft headed white liberals bought into the sentimental charade that mlk was a national hero...Reason enough that his holiday should be observed by blacks only and not by whites.

Whites, Asians, American Indians, and Latinos for the most part do not spend one second thinking about this man on his birthday. The most repugnant aspect of this federal holiday is that school children are held captive to this charade, and have to listen for a day or two the school mandated lessons on MLK's "sainthood".

The only ones that celebrate this man's life in public are politicians, the media and fellow blacks. Just like the Kwanza holiday.

The simplest way I find to further diminish this silly holiday is in one on one conversations with a/un-political people. I usually pose the following query, "Why is it that in this country's 300 year history the only two federal holiday's recognizing an individual birthday is Jesus Christ and Martin Luther King, even Washington had his birthday lumped into President's Day?"

The typical response is, "That's a good question, I don't know why that is."

On August 28th the MLK National Memorial Foundation statue is to be unveiled on the National Mall in Washington DC.

Certainly it is a fitting tribute to the man that his statue was made in Communist China.

It makes me smile every time I remember how his life was cut prematurely. If only his mother had aborted him as a fetus and spared us this crap. Every street named after MLK... Nonsense.

Given how easily the american people are intimidated ,it stands to reason that sooner or later someone similar to king would have come along.

Stupid is as stupid does. The "conservative" movement still does not get it and continues to believe that blacks will see the light and flock to the GOP as long as they embrace the "legacy of Martin Luther King."
