Hispanic is a compound word for Pan Latin of all speakers of the Spanish language. So what the plate implies is from 1492 until modern day as an all encompassing Hispanic heritage. This could include invaders from our south that are changing modern America.

I know, it just annoys me that radically different groups of people are being merged together under the word "hispanic".

It's like when people classify arabs and chinese as "asians" and leave it at that...

Every state is "browning" to a certain extent. I'm happy with where I am. I couldn't imagine living in the South, though. I don't know if I could take all of that.
