Default Low Birth rate and replacement

Always blame europe first is what I often here. The Euros are not producing fast enough and that may be very true. But is the usa doing much better.

O.K. the population of this country is now at 309 million . great, but the white population by the end of this decade will be barely 50% of the overall population and 5 years thereafter it will be much less .

We're increasing here but only by a runaway birthrate of chicanos and latinos as well as african-americans and so we will soon be just another 3rd. world country . and yeah euro will not be much better ;except for the fact that they will be more inclined to remedy their sad situation than we will ever be. I guarantee it!

I may stir up some debate with this post, but that can be a positive thing.

One of the historical reasons for having children was to have someone to look after you in old age. We lost this with the creation of government pensions.

Now we have D.I.N.K.S (dual incomes, no kids) counting on some else, like me and you, to have children to support them in old age.

Today, many people view children as a liability, a financial drain. The way to change that is to scrap social security (it is insolvent anyhow), and create more financial support (like a baby bonus) for those having children.

BTW, it is a little known fact that children can legally be forced to pay for the support of their elderly parents in some, if not all, Canadian provinces. In other words, with no pensions, more children = more wealth.

There's truth in what you say.

I think that couples who choose to have few or no children do so because they sense that they are incapable of parenting properly and are psychologically unfit to do so.

some can handle one or even two but the strain of more seems to be unbearable.

older folk also want to be free to remain creative in their own pursuits and children or many grandchildren appear as a burden . not only financially but timewise.

big families are needed in time of war : cannon fodder.

But now it should be quality not quantity that matters.

Let me tell you one more thing ,in this day and age ,even in a large family there's no desire to help parents or grandparents. children count the days until they can cash out their mothers and fathers. not all, but most!
