I remember holding the flag a few times in school.

Only boys were picked, and screwups were not allowed to do it. We did the regular hand, on heart.

Yeah the current hand on the heart has been used since 1942, sad thing is the stiff arm salute or Bellamy salute was Co-opted by Adolf Hitler and a progressive American president used that opportunity to reinvent another American tradition.

Personally I wouldn't mind going back to the Bellamy salute, I actually use a combination of the original salute pictured in the first pic, then I end with the Bellamy salute, it freaks people out.

The stiff straight arm salute is also called the Roman Legion Salute or just Roman Salute and was done in a time before Christ. For well over 2,000 years The Salute was used Along with the Swastika it the Aryan Man's Birthright. No Jew should ever be able to tell us, what we can and can not use from OUR past. This belongs to us.
