Lightbulb Putting Together Your Mobile Camp Kitchen

Here are some things you'll want for your kitchen away from kitchen.

    Utensil Roll:

I recommend the Duluth Pack brand and Frost River (same company?,) because they're made in the USA:

Utensil Roll by Duluth Pack American-Made

    https://www.frostriver.com/shop/utensil-roll/

Duluth makes very nice backpacks and handbags too, but they also charge like they're real proud of them

Here are other places with lower prices:

    http://www.bwca.com/index.cfm?fuseac...productid=1327

    http://store.kaufmann-mercantile.com...s-utensil-roll

    UPDATE:

Kondos Outdoors also makes a utensil bag that's made in the USA

    http://www.kondosoutdoors.com/produc...nsil-pouch-bag

Here are some alternatives, if you can afford them:

    Klein Tool/Electrician's Bag

    (also made in USA)

    Brownell's Shooting Bag:

    (made in USA)

SIGNATURE SERIES SHOOTING BAG | Brownells

Occidental Leather is a domestic maker of all-leather tool bags.
I do not know what the interior looks like, or whether it has internal loops and pockets.
The company also makes nice suspender harnesses.

    Machinist?s Tool Bag

For those who want a complete bug-out kitchen set ready to use:

Cascade Designs MSR Alpine Kitchen Set

(made in Taiwan; w/ accessories from Thailand and Ireland)

GSI Outdoors Destination Kitchen Set 24

    (made in China)

    ^
    ^

I normally don't recommend anything made in China; however, this actually looks like a very nice kit.
Unlike the MSR kit, it has a neat retractable whisk/hand-stir tool inside.

Both can be found at Amazon and Backcountry(dot)com. As a word of caution though, I would generally prefer
the kit made in Taiwan over the Chinese one. Neither have received any negative
    write-ups yet. Everyone loves theirs.

And here are some non-American made bags that you may want instead, to cut corners on cost.
Some of them actually look pretty good, in spite of their origin.

    Drago Utility/Tool Bag:

    Blackhawk Police Equipment Bag:

    782 Brand Hi-Tech Duffle Bag:

Fox Tactical also makes an inexpensive mechanic bag.

Utensil recommendations for quality (made in America) soup ladles/cooking spoons:

Patriot Plastics, Vollrath/Jacob's Pride, Rada Cutlery, and Cutco.
Preserve also makes their stuff in the USA, if you're looking for a colander or mixing bowl.
Rapala and Epicurean for cutting/fillet boards. Microplane for graters.

Some of these can be found at Amazon, or on the Amazon market place.

Made in USA Forever has a kitchenware section:

    http://madeinusaforever.com/kitchen.html

If you're looking for a manual meat grinder:

    (made in Italy)

It's the sixth one down in the list. They also have an herb grinder from the same company.

    Burger Pocket Press:

    (made in USA)

    Can be found at Amazon

    Sparta Potato Scrubbing Brush:

    (made in USA)

    Can be found at Amazon

    Tupperware Salt & Pepper Shakers:

    (made in USA or Mexico)

    Vic Firth Rolling Pins:

    (made in USA)

    Can be found on Amazon

Open Country Individual 5-Piece Aluminum Mess Kit

    (made in USA)

    6-Person Mess Kit

    (also made in USA)

Camping Cookware, Dehydrators, Meat Grinders | Open Country Campware

    Available at Amazon

    Wildo Plastic Mess Kits:

(made in Sweden & distributed by Pro-Force Equipment)

    http://proforceequipment.com/products.php?id=43

    can be found at Amazon

    Emberlit Camp Stove:

    (made in USA)

Go to product website for more info:

    http://www.emberlit.com/

    (available at Amazon)

Bushcraft Essentials EDC Box Emergency Micro Cooker

    (made in Germany)

This can also be found on Amazon.

Foldable Pocket Cooker By Innovative Products:

    (also made in USA)

Available at Amazon and the Sportsmans Guide.

    Swiss Volcano Bottle:

(can double as both a stove, and a kettle for making tea or coffee)

If these aren't available, consider the Ghillie Kettle:

    (made in the UK)

    http://ghilliekettleusa.com/

Kelly Kettle makes a similar product that is cheaper, but is probably outsourced to the third world.
I believe Kelly offers a stainless steel version as an alternative to the more common
    aluminum.

    Their website here: http://www.kellykettleusa.com/

Steel Bowls are also nice to have around. If you aren't lucky enough to find a surplus one from
Switzerland or somewhere in Europe, I have some recommendations here.

    MSR Alpine Stainless Steel Bowl

    (made in Thailand)

    Cinsa Coated Enamel Bowl:

(I don't believe they make any of their stuff in China, but please make sure before buying;)

    Grilling:

    Hasty-Bake Charcoal Grill:

    (made in USA)

    http://shop.hastybake.com/collection...charcoal-grill

Not made in the USA (a shame,) but looks very useful:

    Ecoque Folding Grill:

    http://www.ecoque.com/our-products

    Available at Amazon.

Last, but not least, is the Lodge Dutch Camp Oven/Coldiron:

    (made in USA)

Too heavy and clunky to really bug out with, but if you live off the beaten path, then you'll probably want a couple.
Can be found for relatively low prices on Amazon. You'll also want the gloves for handling it with.

I also recommend viewing my thread here about wilderness survival:

Cooking oil! I would favor peanut oil because it's healthier, but in the event that anyone in your group happens to have peanut allergies, you may want to use something else instead.
