A Colorado beekeeper recently obtained a leaked document revealing that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) knows a popular crop pesticide is killing off honey bees, but has allowed its continued approval anyway.

...the EPA knew all along about the dangers of clothianidin and decided to just ignore them.

By now, most people know that honeybees are dying off at an incredibly disturbing rate.

I'm considering growing some small herbs, etc. this Spring/Summer. I'm concerned, though, because there is little room, but we have a tiny walk-out patio that would be perfect for that.

Herbs are really easy to grow.

They don't fruit, so they don't really require full sun to grow (but will do their best with full sun).

Herbs have a very pleasant aroma, and are beautiful, like a flower garden.

Basil and coriander are my favorite herbs to grow and cook with.

Besides the soil in a yard, someone with limited space can also grow in pots on a patio, or in a hanging basket, with good success.

I am considering growing some potatoes and carrots in large containers, after I saw how easy it is to harvest root crops from a container.

In the past I built containers to fit the space out of wood, both for the ability to build to the size I wanted, and to avoid plastic containers.
