More Global Warming Propaganda?

Has anyone besides me noticed that every once in a while a report comes out claiming some extreme change in the weather, conveniently located someplace where ordinary people will never go?

Meanwhile, people in the US are freezing their butts off in one of the coldest winters in years.

Given the fact that certain lefty scientists got caught red-handed trying to hide data contrary to Global Warming in "Climategate," I'm much more inclined to believe my eyes and all the stories about severe snowstorms and closed airports in the US and Europe than some claim that an arctic current has warmed up.

The story below claims that the arctic current is the warmest in 2,000 years. Well, who were the scientists around 2,000 years ago measuring the temperature, and if there weren't any scientists measuring this 2,000 years ago (or even 20 years ago), what sort of half-baked method have they come up with to guess the temperature 2,000 years ago?

OSLO (Reuters) – A North Atlantic current flowing into the Arctic Ocean is warmer than for at least 2,000 years in a sign that global warming is likely to bring ice-free seas around the North Pole in summers, a study showed.
Scientists said that waters at the northern end of the Gulf Stream, between Greenland and the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard, averaged 6 degrees Celsius (42.80F) in recent summers, warmer than at natural peaks during Roman or Medieval times.
"The temperature is unprecedented in the past 2,000 years," lead author Robert Spielhagen of the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Literature in Mainz, Germany, told Reuters of the study in Friday's edition of the journal Science.
The summer water temperatures, reconstructed from the makeup of tiny organisms buried in sediments in the Fram strait, have risen from an average 5.2 degrees Celsius (41.36F) from 1890-2007 and about 3.4C (38.12F) in the previous 1,900 years.
The findings were a new sign that human activities were stoking modern warming since temperatures are above past warm periods linked to swings in the sun's output that enabled, for instance, the Vikings to farm in Greenland in Medieval times.
"We found that modern Fram Strait water temperatures are well outside the natural bounds," Thomas Marchitto, of the University of Colorado at Boulder, one of the authors, said in a statement.
The Fram strait is the main carrier of ocean heat to the Arctic.

The Earth has been warming up and cooling down for gozillions of years and will continue to do so for gozillions more. Sadly there are those who want to jump on the "climate change" bandwagon and scare people silly.

It's 20 degrees cooler than normal today in North Dakota. Must be global warming's strange way of manifesting itself. We had seven different months with snow this year. More global warming I guess! Don't get me wrong on North Dakota, a State that I absolutely love, in every way, including its wonderful 4-season climate. North Dakota may be the best State among all 50 in which to launch a State Sovereignty movement. But, for all of its White wonders, it sure isn't getting warmer.

From what I've read, it appears that it is far more likely that we are at the beginning of a long-term natural global cooling period rather than at the start of any man-made global warming period.

The last ice age maximum was about 20,000 years ago, if I recall correctly. And it may be that the long-term interglacial warming period that we have been in for thousands of years is simply coming to an end and may be reversing itself into another ice age's long-term cooling trend.

Now the mainstream Media are more and more referring to "extreme weather", or "unusual Weather events". There must have been some Editorial note passed around about these catch phrases. Meanwhile much of Europe is caught in an extreme cold spell. They think that this is related to "climate change."

Weather has always changed on earth. There has always been stages of ice, famine, or drought. Such extremes have never been the result of farting cattle.
