Here are some illegal photos taken by my grandfather during the German occupation of Norway. I have a whole album full of images of shooting, bombings and fires. Never seen by anyone outside the family. Here are a few of them:









My grandmother, a famous ballet dancer during the war. She recently told me that the german soldiers behaved like gentlemen, they were even more polite than the norwegian police. They bowed to norwegians, made the streets safer, followed old women across the street, and were given strickt orders not to harm any norwegian civilians.



Yup, there's little chief Knut Hamsun on vacation in California, USA ;). I remember seeing my first negro there. He sold us some toy, and was probably just a nice guy. I thought he looked scary so my dad had to pay him.
