truth can be covered by the mist of time , truth can be ground into the dirt . you can hide the truth with propaganda but the truth is still the truth . I am not a racist or white supremacist , but rather a historian .
My first ancestor came to Jamestown in 1619 as an indentured servant .
This was the same year the first twenty African indentured servants came to America . One of whom Anthony Johnson purchased lifetime rights to another African servant . Truth is stranger than fiction it seems absurd that a black man was the first slave holder of another black man in America . But as Walter Cronkite would've said "That's the way it is "

Glad to have you on board, Dave, and thank you for sharing this fascinating historical event.

To be honest with you, I couldn't believe that the first slave owner was actually a black man. Then I looked it up and, sure enough, Anthony Johnson was the first slave owner (officially, that is) and James Cason - his servant -the first slave.
It would appear that he convinced the Virginia State Court to let him keep his servant for life.
I wonder how many Americans today are cognisant of this fact (I, for one, wasn't).

Enjoy your stay, Dave. I think you will find some fascinating and well-spoken people here such as yourself.

If there is anything I can do to assist, feel free to PM me any time.

Best wishes,
Tina

PS: Actually the name (of the first slave) was John Castor - not James Cason.
Also, I was asked to provide a link that supports the above claim,
so here it is:

Happy read,
Tina

No one tells this gym chick how to think - I am quite capable of thinking for myself without resorting to the thoughts of the government, the media, schools, entertainment industry or other indoctrination centers for political correctness.
