HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A Hillsboro man was arrested Thursday by U.S. marshals for claiming to be a military veteran, but investigators said he had also posed as a deputy U.S. marshal.

"You can't impersonate U.S. Marshals and that's why we started looking into it," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Cory Cunningham.

Cyrus Diesel Toretto, 34, was arrested just before 4 p.m. in the Shute Park Plaza, at 1001 SE TV Highway, according to Cunningham.

Over several months the Oregon Fugitive Task Force received reports of a man impersonating a marshal. Investigators learned he had also claimed to be a military veteran with a purple heart, a Portland police officer, a Delta Force soldier and a former Oregon State University football player.
