    NDAA: Liberty Preservation Act

This legislative package is a state-level response to constitutional violations by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (NDAA) – primarily provisions that authorize indefinite detention. Activists, we encourage you to send this to your state senators and representatives – and ask them to introduce this legislation in your state.

Depending on the strength of opposition in your area, we recommend either a 1, 2 or 3 step action plan vis a vis this legislation. The 3-step plan includes each of the 3 pieces of model legislation below, and each builds on each other. A 2 step plan would start with #2, then move to #3 in a future session. A 1 step plan would start with #3. Please work with whatever will have the most effect in your area over the long run…
    *******

The first, a resolution, affirms the proper role of the federal government under the constitution, and also the role of the state government in ending such actions. This is essential in areas where awareness of such duties is low.

The second, a non-compliance act is a binding state law which requires all state agencies to refuse compliance with the federal government in the enforcement of the offending provisions of the NDAA.

The third, a state nullification act is a binding state law which requires all state agencies to not only refuse compliance as in the second, but also renders the federal act illegal within the boundaries of the state – with penalties for violating the state act.

Guts. That is the one word which describes Rep. Ron Paul of Texas best. Perhaps the most consistent vote in the Congress, he can be expected to oppose any unconstitutional expansion of government, no matter how politically difficult that vote might be.

He was one of only three Congressmen to vote against the USA Patriot Act -- a law which not only removes many of the delicate checks and balances protecting our freedoms, but opens the door for the ATF to conduct blanket searches in obtaining 4473’s and other gun records.

Paul has been a powerful advocate for the Second Amendment and has sponsored legislation to repeal most gun laws dating back to 1968 -- as well as, legislation to get the U.S. out of the anti-gun United Nations.

In 2011, Rep. Paul introduced HR 2613, a bill to repeal the infamous Gun Free School Zones law. Slammed through in 1996 as an amendment to a giant last-minute must-pass appropriations bill, the school zones law disarmed school staff and other adults, leaving elementary and secondary school children defenseless to serial killers.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky on Monday found himself in a showdown with the Transportation Security Administration in Nashville, Tennessee after refusing to undergo a full-body pat down. Paul was later re-screened and booked on a subsequent flight.
The senator went through the scanner at the airport but was told there was some sort of "anomaly" with the scan and would have to get a full-body pat down, Paul's chief of staff Doug Stafford told CBS News. Paul did not consent to this and offered another scan, but the TSA insisted on the pat down.
According to the Associated Press, Paul said he was "detained" in a small cubicle in the airport, which is about an hour from his Bowling Green, Kentucky home, and missed his flight to Washington for a Senate session.
The TSA disputed the characterization that Paul was "detained." The TSA told CBS News that Paul wasn't detained at any point, though he triggered an alarm during a routine screening and refused to complete the screening process.
Passengers who refuse to comply with security procedures are denied access to the secure gate area. In this case, Paul was escorted out of the screening area by local law enforcement, according to the TSA.
"When an irregularity is found during the TSA screening process, it must be resolved prior to allowing a passenger to proceed to the secure area of the airport," the TSA said in a statement to CBS News. "Passengers who refuse to complete the screening process cannot be granted access to the secure area in order to ensure the safety of others traveling."
Paul's father, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Rep. Ron Paul, quickly tweeted about the incident Monday morning: "My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming."
Ron Paul left a similar message on Facebook, and Rand Paul's communications director Moira Bagley also tweeted the news.
Both Rand Paul and Ron Paul are known for their libertarian policy positions, and last year, Rand Paul blasted the TSA for conducting unnecessary pat downs.
In a June 2011 hearing, Paul told TSA administrator John Pistole, "I think you ought to get rid of the random pat-downs. The American public is unhappy with them, they're unhappy with the invasiveness of them."
After reports surfaced of young children getting intense, random pat-downs, Paul said in the hearing, "It just really just shows that no one is thinking... We need to be doing better police work and doing less of the universal giving up of our freedom to live our life the way we would like to live our life."
He suggested there should be a "trusted traveler" program in which people who travel frequently and are known to be not a threat, like congressmen, don't have to be searched.
Update, 11:52 a.m. ET: A TSA official tells CBS News that Paul was re-booked on another flight and re-screened without incident.

President Obama has picked a strong advocate of immigration reform to head his Domestic Policy Council.

The White House announced Tuesday that Cecilia Muñoz, a former senior vice president of the National Council of La Raza, would replace Melody Barnes at the top of the council. White House press secretary Jay Carney announced the appointment during his press briefing.

Muñoz is now serving as the White House’s director of intergovernmental affairs and is in charge of outreach to state and local governments.

“The president has asked, she has accepted,” Carney said.

Muñoz is an immigration expert who worked for the National Council of La Raza, the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, until she joined the administration in 2009. The group works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans and advocates legislation that would provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Across Atlantic Ice: The Origin of America's Clovis Culture is now available for preorder. This book, by the originator of the Solutrean Hypothesis, Dennis Stanford, has the power to undue decades of liberal-induced White guilt over the plight of American Indians, so-called Native Americans, at the hands of European settlers. New science, unveiled in Across Atlantic Ice, now strongly suggests that Europeans were the original inhabitants of North America who were wiped out by Asians (ancestors of today's American Indians) who crossed the Bering Stait thousands of years later. Ironically, history repeats itself and European Americans now find themselves facing the same existential threat - an invasion by Asian/Amerindian invaders from both the south and east. Get your copy of this monumental book and help support WNN with your purchase!

Who were the first humans to inhabit North America? According to the now familiar story, mammal hunters entered the continent some 12,000 years ago via a land bridge that spanned the Bering Sea. The presence of these early New World people was established by distinctive stone tools belonging to the Clovis culture. But are the Clovis tools Asian in origin? Drawing from original archaeological analysis, paleoclimatic research, and genetic studies, noted archaeologists Dennis J. Stanford and Bruce A. Bradley challenge the old narrative and, in the process, counter traditional--and often subjective--approaches to archaeological testing for historical relatedness. The authors apply rigorous scholarship to a hypothesis that places the technological antecedents of Clovis in Europe and posits that the first Americans crossed the Atlantic by boat and arrived earlier than previously thought. Supplying archaeological and oceanographic evidence to support this assertion, the book dismantles the old paradigm while persuasively linking Clovis technology with the culture of the Solutrean people who occupied France and Spain more than 20,000 years ago.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) SC Senator Tom Davis has announced his endorsement of Ron Paul, a candidate he feels can beat Barack Obama while staying true to Republican Party principles.

During a press conference in Myrtle Beach Sunday night, Davis announced his endorsement of candidate Ron Paul, saying Dr. Paul has fought a lonely battle in Washington against crony capitalism.

Davis commented that his endorsement is about the ideals that Ron Paul stands for.

Taking to the podium after receiving his endorsement, Paul told the crowd that showed up at the Pallisades Ballroom in Myrtle Beach Sunday that, "We will do well next Saturday."

Paul added that current administration is bad, but bad ideas have been happening for the past thirty years.

Paul said he'd like to cut the budget $1,000,000,000 in his first year in office, and bring the troops home. He added we shouldn't go to war unless Congress declares it, and the United States should stop being world police. There's no reason we should go into Iran, Paul said.

The Zionist warmongers are putting their money behind Romney and especially Gingrich. It looks like Obama has not been pro-Israel enough so they will spend money to defeat him. But the Zionists' immediate target is Ron Paul, as he is "dangerously neutral" and non interventionist in his foreign policy views.

Committee for Israel is a new Super Political Action Committee (Super PAC) run by William Kristol. There are no individual donation limits to Super PACs, so wealthy Zionist bankers can contribute millions to influence American foreign and domestic policies. Kristol, a dual citizen of Israel and the United States, was one of the chief architects of the disastrous war in Iraq. If there's anything worse than a Chicken Hawk traitor like Newt Gingrich leading us to war, it's an anti-American Israeli sending our white kids off to die.

Here's the ad, with Israel-firster Gary Bauer, attacking Ron Paul for putting America first:

Why can't so many evangelical Americans put their country first?

Perhaps William Kristol views our Soldiers the same way that another Zionist warmonger, Henry Kissinger, does?

Ron Paul has surged to within striking distance of first. His "I Went" moment in the last GOP debate and his strong second in New Hampshire appears to be making him the conservative alternative to serial flip flopper, Mitt Romney.

Dr. Paul just needs to focus on his conservative credentials, Protestant faith, active duty military service, and pro states' rights stance. Jesse Benton was brilliant in declaring Dr. Paul the only electable alternative to Romney after the New Hampshire primary.

This poll was taken BEFORE Ron Paul took a strong second in the New Hampshire primary. I think Ron Paul's "I Went" when he called Newt Gingrich a Chicken Hawk at the debate and highlighted his own military service, is a big reason for this surge.

Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX), a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, can celebrate two victories Wednesday. Mr. Paul is tied with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich for 2nd place at the national level among Republicans and Independents, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday. Mr. Paul and Mr. Gingrich pulled in 17 percent of the votes each, while former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney garnered 29 percent of the votes.
The results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll were released prior to Mr. Paul’s 2nd place finish in the New Hampshire Primary. Whether Mr. Paul’s strong finish on Tuesday night will impact his standing in South Carolina or at the national level will be revealed in the coming days.

The results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll are a major victory for Mr. Paul, as the Texas congressman has jumped 5 percentage points since Ipsos Public Affairs last conducted a GOP poll between December 8th and December 12th. On the other hand, the results of the Reuters/Ipsos poll are somewhat troubling for Mr. Gingrich. The Georgia Republican’s support has dipped 8 percentage points among Republicans and Independents.
Mr. Romney has benefited from Mr. Gingrich’s fall from the top. The former Massachusetts governor has surged 11 percentage points in one month. After securing a strong second place finish in the Iowa Caucuses, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has risen 8 percentage points.

After a very solid 2nd place finish in the 2012 New Hampshire Primary behind expected winner Mitt Romney, the Ron Paul Campaign released the following statement:

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Ron Paul tonight scored an historic second-place victory in the 2012 New Hampshire Primary. Below please find comments from National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton:

“Ron Paul tonight had an incredibly strong second-place finish in New Hampshire and has stunned the national media and political establishment.

“When added to Paul’s top-tier showing in Iowa, it’s clear he is the sole Republican candidate who can take on and defeat both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

“The race is becoming more clearly a two-man race between establishment candidate Mitt Romney and Ron Paul, the candidate of authentic change. That means there is only one true conservative choice.

"Ron Paul has won more votes in Iowa and New Hampshire than any candidate but Mitt Romney.

"Ron Paul and Mitt Romney have been shown in national polls to be the only two candidates who can defeat Barack Obama.

"And Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are the only two candidates who can run a full, national campaign, competing in state after state over the coming weeks and months. Ron Paul's fundraising numbers -- over $13 million this quarter -- also prove he will be able to compete with Mitt Romney. No other candidate can do all of these things.

"Ron Paul is clearly the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney as the campaign goes forward.

“We urge Ron Paul’s opponents who have been unsuccessfully trying to be the conservative alternative to Mitt Romney to unite by getting out of the race and uniting behind Paul’s candidacy.

“Ron Paul has the boldest plan to cut spending, a dedication to protecting life, and a lifelong dedication to the Constitution and limited government. He also has the necessary support to campaign nationwide against Mitt Romney.

“Our campaign is already planning ahead for South Carolina, Florida, and beyond. Soon Ron Paul will head to South Carolina to begin a feverish round of campaigning.

“Ron Paul is in this race for the long haul. And he is ready to fight.

“See you on the campaign trail.”

Keep the internet unregulated and free. Period.

To the ranks of same-sex marriage, tax cuts and illegal immigration, add this to the list of polarizing political issues of Election 2012: the Stop Online Piracy Act.

The hot-button anti-piracy legislation that sparked a revolt online is starting to become a political liability for some of SOPA’s major backers. Fueled by Web activists and online fundraising tools, challengers are using the bill to tag its congressional supporters as backers of Big Government — and raise campaign cash while they’re at it.

Among the fattest targets: SOPA’s lead author, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-Texas), and two of its most vocal co-sponsors, Reps. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.). House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has also felt the wrath of SOPA opponents.

Even GOP presidential contenders Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum were asked by voters recently to weigh in on the bill (neither gave definitive answers, though activists have interpreted Santorum’s response as more sympathetic to SOPA than Romney’s).

It’s a stretch to think SOPA will cost any of the longtime incumbents backing the bill their seats. The legislation would give government new powers to shutter websites that peddle counterfeit products and pirated copies of movies and music.

But there are signs the issue, long the domain of think tanks and intellectual property lawyers, could become a real factor in some races.

Prominent conservative blogger Erick Erickson, for one, has promised to make life miserable for any GOP lawmaker who gets behind the bill. His first target: Blackburn.

“I love Marsha Blackburn. She is a delightful lady and a solidly conservative member of Congress,” Erickson wrote on his widely read blog, Red State. But “I am pledging right now that I will do everything in my power to defeat her in her 2012 re-election bid.”

Its origin could well be history lessons absorbed at my first school, Northlands, the highly regarded British Girls School in Olivos, Buenos Aires. Afternoon classes taught in Spanish featured Las Malvinas, islands known in morning classes as The Falklands. Is this discrepancy not a fine introduction to self-interest, truth, and power?

Great news for patriots. Ron Paul is polling an all time best of 24%!

Mr. Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, still holds a commanding lead over the field in Iowa with 38 percent support, followed by Rep. Ron Paul at 24 percent and Mr. Santorum at 11 percent — much better than the 3 percent he polled last week.

Fading quickly is former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who had 9 percent support in the new poll, while former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. had 8 percent support.

The poll of 498 likely primary voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

One exception to Mr. Romney’s broad support is among single people, where Mr. Paul was backed by about half of all single voters. Mr. Paul also led among self-identified liberals, while Mr. Romney collected about 40 percent of moderates and 40 percent of conservatives.
