A petition for a task force was started the day of Alberta's latest Somali-Canadian slaying.
Abdinasir Ali, 19, was found in an apartment in Fort McMurray Thursday by police responding to an anonymous call for help.
He's the latest to die among dozens of young Somali-Albertans.
Dozens have died here in the last several years, the majority in Edmonton.
The Canadian Somali Congress counts 30 since 2005. The Edmonton Sun was unable to confirm that count.
Ali moved to Alberta from Toronto as have many other slaying victims a year ago to find work, said a friend. It's not known if Ali had any drug or gang connections, like a number of the fallen young men.
Yet, that common link to a seedy underworld doesn't explain away the problem in the mind of Somali-Canadian community leaders
