    Arrow Australian Federal Election, August 21, 2010

    AUSTRALIANS will go to the polls on August 21, Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced.

    Prime Minister Julia Gillard calls 2010 Federal Election | News.com.au

    Ms Gillard named economic strength, education and climate change and her to three priorities for a re-elected government.

    Mr Abbott held a press conference shortly after Ms Gillard. He urged Australians to change the Government, saying only the Coalition would end the "spin and incompetence" of the Rudd-Gillard team.

    "Australia will be at its best when all of our people are empowered to be at their best," he said.

    Lightbulb Election decision

    I copied this from the article link provided by AustralianLily:
    Battle ahead

    The decision to call the election today has been swayed by internal Labor Party research showing Ms Gillard has put the Government back into a competitive race with the Coalition, with both parties now at 50/50.Party strategists from both camps agreed the election could be won or lost in crucial marginal seats of western Sydney where around seven marginal seats are now in play.
    Calling an election today leaves the Liberal Party without candidates in key Sydney seats Greenway and Parramatta, which were not due to be decided until tonight.
    "It is extremely volatile . . . and there will be a lot of open races," another senior Labor source said.
    "We expect that there will be a further tightening in the polls over the coming week."
    However, in the wake of the election announcement, bookies have made Labor the clear favourite.

    Thank you Jamie for bolding my name - but is unnecessary. The following is an explanation on why I have posted.

    I have deliberately continued to post the WN message on this board, most times alone. Most people think I want the attention, this is not true:

    1. I want to see Australia become a better place;
    2. I honour an obligation from yourself and some other members from the care and personability given;
    3. Variety is the spice of life;
    4. I am often drained from energy output and ridiculed from various group members and hesitate to post but reminded myself this Cause is important and to try to ignore the aggression, isolation and dumping directed at me and I disconnect;
    5. I tried to not make this a duplicate of Stormfront - but I guess most of the members here want that to be so.
    I hope Tony Abbot win the election - because he has ethics and a moral grounding and reality that says his position is more than a job. Australia WN's are too heavy and exclusive and need to put aside their backstabbing attitudes and bay of pigs response and get on with the job - intellectual wanking is not a Party.
