More Talk of an Internet Kill Switch

For the hundredth time, I warn you people “the powers that be” want to take away the Internet. They don’t like patriotic Americans being free to expose government lies.

An article at Techworld reports: “A US Senate committee has approved a wide-ranging cybersecurity bill that some critics have suggested would give the US president the authority to shut down parts of the Internet during a cyberattack. Senator Joe Lieberman and other bill sponsors have refuted the charges that the Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act gives the president an Internet kill switch. Instead, the bill puts limits on the powers the president already has to cause the closing of any facility or stations for wire communication in a time of war, as described in the Communications Act of 1934, they said in a breakdown of the bill published on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee website.”

And who gets to define what a “cyberattack” is? That seems like an awfully low bar. How would closing down the Internet be better than suffering through a cyberattack? At least we know it’s a “kill switch,” because it’s now been officially denied.

The article notes “The bill would allow the US president to take emergency actions to “protect” (my quotes) critical parts of the Internet, including ordering owners of critical infrastructure to implement emergency response plans, during a cyber-emergency….The legislation would give the [completely unneccessary bureaucracy] US Department of Homeland Security authority that it does not now have to respond to cyber-attacks, Lieberman, a [Jewish] Connecticut independent, said earlier this month.”

Basically, it’s a kill switch.

In the event of a so-called “national emergency,” which could be some staged 911 type event or perhaps merely a prolonged spamming, Obama now has the legal authority to pretty much do any damned thing he pleases, thanks not only to laws like these but also to all that so-called “security” legislation left over from the day of Bush Junior and his little Jewish neocon friends.

They’ve been after the Internet for over a decade ever since they realized that a larger number of White Americans are getting their information and news off the Internet than from officially approved news sources. They are trying to shut down Matt Drudge now with a bill that would bankrupt him for the “crime” of linking to other web sites. Jewish White House cyber-security czar Cass Sunstein has set up a program of deliberate disruption of “unfriendly” web sites and bulletin boards using what he refers to as “cognitive dissonance operatives.”

We need to be screaming at our politicians over this so they don’t even try to set up an Internet kill switch. Notice that once again a powerful Jew in the Senate is engaging in this subversion of Free Speech. This time it’s Joe Lieberman. In the past, Senator Charles Schumer of New York was leading the way to pass police state legislation.
