After complaints from U.S. citizens about a feature that answered the phone at Charter Communications with," If you speak English push 1," Charter has now changed the system to answer in English and tell people in Spanish that is they want Spanish they have to push 2. We no longer have to push 1 if we speak English when talking to customer service personnel at Charter.
Our complaints as consumers do help. We can make a difference if we do not keep silent about what makes us uncomfortable. We can vote with our feet,
this means not continuing to do business with companies that ignore our complaints. It is not racist to expect people to speak English in the United States. When something comes across as not American friendly, we need to speak up about it.
The Washington Government is totally non-responsive to American Citizens, but the Merchants obey their Golden Rule:
Don't heckle the Shekel!
