I am sure that Congress will come up with some plan to head off these automatic cuts, BUT WHY?
Allowing these cuts to go into effect will only reduce the 'American Empire', our self appointed responsibility as the worlds 'Policeman'!
By reducing the Pentagon's funding we might not be able to fight Israel's wars in the Middle East! GOOD!
By allowing theses cuts to go through, we might have to tell nations like Germany, Japan, and South Korea that they might have to increase their own military defense, instead of putting that money to good use like investing in Research and Development and Bullet Trains!
The U.S. military could whether theses cuts easy by cutting out the waste and pet projects of the individual Congress members.
In making these drastic cuts, the GOP could tell the Obama administration and the Left-Wing that they've made their sacrifice in cutting the military, now it's time to put up or shut up when it comes down to making some serious cuts in other government departments, if not getting rid of a few of them all together!
This is the whole purpose of having these automatic cuts, is so that the cuts will actually take place. But, don't hold your breath, these idiots in Washington will figure out some way of getting out of doing what they should. Like usual!

Yes, it would save lots of money indeed. We all know that massive defense spending is a major part of the mess we're in nowadays. Our troops being used for UN/NATO ops is another reason to cut.
I think the first branch to start with is the Navy. Our Navy is way too big.

Iraq’s government has signed a string of deals with foreign energy companies to restore its dilapidated oil industry and boost output.
Rumaila is producing just over 1 million barrels per day and the partners plan to raise that by 10 percent by the end of the year, CNPC said in its newsletter, China Oil News. Rumaila, in the southern city of Basra, has 17.8 billion barrels of reserves. BP PLC owns 38 percent of the venture, CNPC has 37 percent and Iraq’s South Oil Co. has 25 percent. China has become a major player in Iraq’s oil industry after CNPC and other government-owned signed a series of production agreements.

Even though I am retired military, I'm all for cuts. With those cuts, we would only be able to defend OUR OWN BOARDERS and not some tyrant's civil war or war to grab someone else's land. Of course Obama doesn't see it that way. He's only interested in keeping his a** from getting shot at during the military coup.

I agree CymruCelt! People have got to come to understand that our nations power and greatness isn't measured by how large and widespread its military is, especially when it's being manipulated and used by other nations such as Israel to serve its on selfish purposes, but rather, the strength of our domestic institutions, our borders, our infrastructure and our economy here at home.
I am the furtherest thing from a pacifist, but what's the use of having military victories, which our questionable at best, while we allow the Home Front to insidiously crumble right before our very eyes.
National strength comes with a strong national homeland.

I believe that a righteous people need a standing army to protect them from invasion.
I believe the goal of the Jew Knighted Nations is to cut the militaries of western nations bit by bit and piece by piece in the name of "Saving Money."
Remember the money they are saving is digital money created out of thin air. "We" are not saving anything.
While the U.S. military will be cut the U.N. military will continue to grow secretly unreported.
Disarming what remains of white nations and building a massive world army of non whites....
is terrifying.
I bet they could cut the same amount out of political pay checks.

Do remember, our military is now full of negroes and gang violence. It's not reported in the media at all. Ive heard first hand of this violence. We want them on the borders protecting us? Not me. They'll sell out for a quarter bag.
I wish we had a millitary that I felt we could trust, but turner diaries comes to mind when I think about our military protecting anything civil in our country.
I may be wrong
