Default Celebrities Join Peres Effort to Free Pollard - Will Obama Commute His Sentence?

Efforts to persuade US President Barack Obama to commute the sentence of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard intensified over the weekend as President Shimon Peres arrived in Washington to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama.

The award will be presented on Wednesday at a gala event that may have been intended to paint Obama as a friend of Israel. But that strategy could backfire if Peres receives a freedom medal while Pollard remains in prison.

Nearly 70,000 people have signed a petition calling upon Peres to do everything possible to bring about Pollard's release on his trip to Washington. The petition drive began two months ago and has attracted support from across Israel and around the world.

My bets are on Obama caving in to Zionist pressure, 10 to 1 odds.

In the off chance that he keeps Pollard locked up, he will lose his reelection bid, assuming Romney goes to the wailing wall.

I think Mitt will make the pilgrimage, because I think he really does want the job, and no one can be elected President who has not stood in the Holiest of Holies. If he doesn't go, that means he knows he can't win and is just another stand-in for the sake of the appearance of choice for Amurrikins.

It is possible that an iron-clad written assurance of a pardon next year will suffice for Barry. Barry has been to the wall.

I also believe he will cave to Zionist pressure, especially since his popularity w/ jews is starting to wane...

The United States refuses to release an American who spied for Israel because it suspects the Jewish state concealed the existence of other spies, a former Israeli envoy to Washington said on Monday.

Speaking to Israeli public radio, former ambassador Itamar Rabinovich said Washington never believed that Jonathan Pollard -- an American who is serving time for passing secret US documents to the Jewish state -- acted alone.

"The Americans suspect that Jonathan Pollard was not alone, that there were other Pollards and that Israel, despite all its promises, did not reveal all its cards," he said.

"They (punished) Israel on the back of Pollard and expressed their anger more with Israel than with Pollard," he added.

Asked about the possible existence of other Israeli spies in the United States, Rabinovich would say only: "I fear so." And asked if Israel had come completely clean about details of the Pollard affair, he said: "To my knowledge, Israel hasn't said everything." Pollard, a former navy analyst, was sentenced to life in prison in 1987 for having passed classified US defence documents to Israel between May 1984 and November 1985 when he was arrested.

Let's wait until Shimon Peres is in the White House receiving his Presidential Medal of Freedom before we believe this story. This looks like an Israeli news source - for some reason the US media outlets are hardly talking about the latest developments in the worst case of spying in the US in the last century.
