In this 1st attack, a 27-year-old white man was jumped while walking home and brutally beaten by five to eight black men shouting "Trayvon!"

During the 5 minute beating the victim sustained injuries to the left eye, abrasions to his palms and a cut on his right kneecap, and what a Gainesville Police spokeswoman said would likely be "permanent disfigurement to the left side of his face."

There has been a virtual media blackout on this story.
